Calvin Dressler - Owner & Master Locksmith
I’ve been picking, installing, and rekeying locks for more than four decades now, and I still keep a workbench at our Texas shop where I hand-fit Medeco cylinders when the afternoon slows down. I started Strongbox Lock & Safe Co. on the idea that this trade had lost its way - too many bait-and-switch operators, too many guys working out of unmarked cars with no accountability. I hold a Certified Master Locksmith designation through ALOA and specialize in high-security commercial installations, though I’ll still drive out myself for a residential lockout if we’re short-handed. My grandfather kept the family deed in an iron strongbox under the floorboards; that’s where the company name came from, and that’s still the standard I measure us against.
Marcus T. - Lead Field Technician
Marcus runs our emergency response rotation and has been with us for eleven years, which means he’s seen every variation of “I locked my keys in the car” that Texas weather can produce. He’s factory-certified in Schlage Primus XP and Mul-T-Lock Interactive systems, and he’s the technician we send when a property manager needs twenty units rekeyed by Wednesday because the old super quit without returning keys. Off the clock, Marcus restores vintage motorcycles and applies the same patience to a 1973 Honda carburetor that he does to a stubborn mortise lock. He keeps a laminated Texas county map in his truck because GPS still gets confused by the rural routes we cover.
Elena R. - Senior Installer & Commercial Specialist
Elena handles our commercial accounts from Waco to the Hill Country, installing everything from basic keypad entry systems to full Abloy Protec2 master key hierarchies for multi-tenant buildings. She came to us after eight years in facilities maintenance for a regional hospital chain, so she speaks the language of fire marshals, ADA compliance officers, and property insurers without translating. Her specialty is retrofitting historic buildings - she once spent three days hand-filing a Baldwin mortise to fit a 1920s Craftsman doorframe in Fredericksburg without damaging the original wood. She drinks her coffee black and carries a notebook where she sketches lock mechanisms from memory when a part hasn’t arrived yet.
Darnell K. - Service Coordinator
Darnell is the live voice that answers when you call (844) 697-1013 at 2 a.m. on a Sunday or during a holiday dinner rush. He’s been with Strongbox for six years and knows every technician’s location, every current job status, and every repeat customer by name - including which ones need extra time to find their checkbooks and which ones prefer digital invoices. Before joining us, he dispatchered for a regional HVAC company, so he understands the mechanics of getting the right person to the right address with the right parts. He keeps a standing desk and a stress ball shaped like a padlock, and he’s the reason our average callback time stays under four minutes even when three counties are calling at once.
Jesse P. - Apprentice Technician
Jesse is in his second year of formal apprenticeship, working toward his Registered Locksmith certification through ALOA while riding along with Marcus and Elena on progressively complex jobs. He started with us after completing a vocational program in San Antonio and spent his first six months disassembling and reassembling every deadbolt in our training room until he could do it blindfolded. He’s already proficient in residential rekeying and basic automotive lockouts, and he’s beginning to assist on commercial master key systems under Elena’s supervision. Jesse asks more questions than any apprentice I’ve had, which is exactly why he’ll be running his own truck inside of two years. He grew up in a house where his mother changed the locks herself after every tenant turnover, so he understood early that this work is about people’s sense of safety, not just metal and pins.
